Modern movie viewers want to see rapid-fire action, a simple plot and a lot of special effects. In the last few years the most successful movies were the big budget movies, with a lot of explosions and beautiful actresses. Of course, we can’t criticize a person for what movies he or she likes and dislikes but the movies of real quality offer more than spectacular explosions and beautiful women.

I don't have an article to suggest at the moment, but I do share your opinion and enthusiasm for black and white movies. Question: Technically speaking, when is a movie considered old--after how many years?

I totally agree with you. It seems to me that the emerging generations, including today's teenagers and even older adults, fail to see just how intricate the old movies really are. With all the high-tech toys and gadgets we have, people over look the intricate plot lines and fantastic acting of the old time movies. People today are more concerned with how much violence is in a movie to make it a "good" movie. There are a lot more to movies than how to kill someone. I'm not saying that all modern day movies are bad, but very few can attain the rank of the classics. Just like you can't judge a book by it's cover, you cannot judge a movie by what era it was made in.
