In-house technical supports are technicians available to provide the service necessary for the products. The manufacturer hires this technical support team and trains them to service the products. Their services may be free for a certain period and after that, costumers may need to pay for technical services.
Outsourced technical support
If the manufacturer outsources the technical support, it may be good because the technical support team specializes in such service. They have enough people to take care of the issues through their tiered technical support system. The outsourced technical support may also conduct a remote PC repair if you are having trouble with the computer.
Let us talk about the tiered system technical support.
Most outsourced technical support has three tiers of technical support staff. Depending on the level of skill and issues with your electronic appliance, the tiers will assist you in any problem.
If you need basic service assistance, Tier 1 will provide you with responses to your queries using the per-encoded responses. Tier 1 assists customers with some minor issues include installation questions.
If you need more in-depth technical assistance, Tier 1 will refer you to Tier 2. The Tier 2 may be engineers more knowledgeable about the product.
For a more complex issue, there is the Tier 3 technical support to attend to your problems. Mostly, he is the person who is more knowledgeable in many aspects of the design and manufacture of a product similar to what is being repaired.
This will ensure that any problem you may have with the product is attended to properly.
Outsourced technical support is preferred because attention is given properly to customers. An in-house technical support is good because you may not need tiers to attend to your problems but because of limit in personnel, attention may not be given in full. Repair may be slow and therefore take days to be performed.
If you are the manufacturer, your customers may find it difficult to request for technical support if you have limited in-house technical service.
It is always good to outsource technical support, because you will be sure, that competent and skilled technicians will assist your customers.
